MEET YOUR PSYCHOLOGIST

Hello, I’m Prabha.

Prabha Mishra · Registered Psychologist

I work with adults, bringing warmth, curiosity and practical psychological skills to the therapy room. My aim is to understand your experience and help you find an approach that fits your needs, values and circumstances.

My experience spans public mental health and private practice, including adult mental health and eating disorder outpatient care at Monash Health. I now lead Safe Path Psychology.

Depending on your needs, I draw on cognitive behavioural therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, cognitive processing therapy, schema therapy and compassion-focused approaches.

Sessions are available in English and Hindi.

FOR GPs & REFERRERS ACROSS AUSTRALIA

Your patients’ local GP.
Psychological support Australia-wide.

Safe Path Psychology welcomes GP referrals for adults aged 18 and over across Australia. Telehealth connects your patients with psychological care from home, including in regional, rural and remote communities.

A considered referral option

Refer adult patients for anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, eating disorders and body image concerns, women’s and perinatal mental health, grief, and adjustment to injury or major life changes. Sessions are available in English and Hindi.

Telehealth suitability is considered individually, including privacy, access to technology, clinical needs and local supports. Patients needing urgent care or a higher level of support may need a different service.

WorkCover, NSW SIRA & TAC referrals

Prabha works with clients receiving support through WorkCover, NSW workers compensation and motor accident schemes regulated by SIRA, and Victoria’s Transport Accident Commission (TAC). Treatment can address the psychological impact of injury, trauma, anxiety, depression and adjustment difficulties.

For scheme-funded referrals, please provide the relevant scheme, claim number, insurer or claims manager details, referral information and any treatment approval. Acceptance, telehealth arrangements and funding are confirmed for the individual claim before treatment begins.

Care alongside your practice

Communication with the referring doctor forms part of coordinated care, with patient consent and applicable reporting requirements. For eating disorder presentations, medical monitoring and collaboration with other treating professionals remain important.

A FEW PRACTICAL QUESTIONS

Before your first session.

How does online therapy work?

You meet by video from a private space. You’ll need a reliable internet connection, a device with a camera and microphone, and somewhere you can speak comfortably. Your first appointment includes a discussion of your concerns, goals and whether telehealth is suitable.

Do I need a GP referral?

You can enquire about private therapy without a referral. Medicare rebates depend on eligibility, a valid referral, relevant plan arrangements and provider eligibility. Confirm fees and rebate arrangements with the practice before booking.

Do you see clients across Australia?

Yes. Telehealth appointments are available to adults across Australia, including metropolitan, regional, rural and remote communities. Suitability is assessed individually, including your clinical needs, privacy, internet access and local medical and emergency supports.

What are the fees and appointment times?

A standard 50-minute telehealth consultation costs $210. Reduced-fee appointments are available for Health Care Card and Pensioner Concession Card holders, subject to availability. View fees and rebate information, or contact us to discuss current appointment times. Cancellation arrangements will be confirmed before booking.

Can I use WorkCover, SIRA or TAC funding?

Prabha has experience working with clients under these schemes. Contact the practice to confirm whether your referral can be accepted and what insurer approval is required before starting sessions.

Is this a crisis service?

Safe Path Psychology provides scheduled psychological care and is not an emergency service. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 000 or attend your nearest emergency department.
